Welcome

My name is Pamela and I’m in my early 50s.  I have severe arthritis in both hips and just plain arthritis in one knee.  Nothing else has ached yet so no idea what is going on with those joints.

In October 2009 I underwent a total hip replacement (thr) on my right hip and am expecting to have to have the left one done at some stage.  The knee will have to wait a bit.

My experience of surgery and nursing care were good up until discharge when the whole thing seemed to fall to pieces.  Occupational therapy and physio were pathetic.  Someday I ‘ll write it all up.

The main thing is my new hip is working.  I am now more mobile (3 weeks post op) than I was before but there is still a long way to go.
